Free gardening kits available Thursday in Boise

Starting at 1 p.m., the Idaho Botanical Garden will begin distributing 1,500 seed packets, as well as information on planting and gardening and a distribution list for local food pantries.

It’s all part of Grow a Row, a program intended to help Boise residents learn to garden and encourage them to distribute fresh fruits and vegetables to local charitable pantries. This is the program’s second year.

Grow a Row partners include the Boise Urban Garden School, Idaho Botanical Garden, Healthwise, the Idaho Foodbank, Boise Parks & Recreation and the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health.
