Everybody loves a free concert. Here are a couple worth noting in the next two days:
- Eccentric Welsh singer Kate Le Bon — who will open for Franz Ferdinand tonight at the Knitting Factory — stops by the Record Exchange for a 4 p.m. in-store show today.
- And 18-year-old blues-rocker Matthew Curry — opening for the Steve Miller Band and the Doobie Brothers this summer — will tear up the Sapphire Room at the Riverside Hotel on Thursday starting at 6:30 p.m. You’ll be asked for a voluntary donation at this Boise Blues Society-organized gig, and trust me, you’ll probably want to make one. I wrote a bit more about Curry and the show in my Sunday column.
