Forum set Thursday for Democrats seeking open Boise House seat

Troy Rohn and Melissa Wintrow will appear at a forum sponsored by the North End Neighborhood Association and the District 19 Democratic Legislative Committee.

The pair seek to replace freshman Rep. Holli Woodings, who is running for secretary of state. The winner of the Rohn-Wintrow race is a lock for the general election, as no Republican or third party candidate have filed.

Both candidates work at Boise State University.

Rohn is a professor who specializes in research in Alzheimer’s disease.

Wintrow operates a residential college program in the Department of Housing and Residential Life.

The forum begins at 7 p.m. Thursday in the gym at Longfellow Elementary School, 1511 N. 9th St. in Boise.

The all-Democratic District 19 delegation from Boise’s North and East Ends is among the most solidly Democratic in Idaho. Three of the 20 Democrats in the 105-member Legislature come from District 19.
