Five Things You Should Do This Weekend in Boise

When you aren’t making last-minute Easter brunch reservations …

1. HIT THE ICE
Game on! The Idaho Steelheads are in the Kelly Cup playoffs. Watch them skate circles around the Colorado Eagles tonight and Saturday at CenturyLink Arena. (We hope.)

2. CHASE EGGS
Today’s Scene magazine has a guide to area Easter egg hunts. The biggie is the Mix 106 Easter Egg Scramble on Saturday morning at Capitol Park. No cheating and dropping down in age class, kiddos.

3. GET ‘WICKED’
Smash musical “Wicked” began its unprecedented three-week run at the Morrison Center this week. Look, I’m no fan of musicals, and even I enjoyed it last night. I don’t see how you can do Glinda any better than the multi-talented, hilarious Kara Lindsay. She’s fantastic. Get tickets here.

4. ROCK AT THE RX
It’s Record Store Day, which means the Record Exchange in Downtown Boise will be rockin’ all weekend. Dude, there’s free beer and pizza today starting at 6 p.m. Unless you’re sniveling because “’Capital-I Indie’ record stores represent a certain group that is not terribly welcoming to those outside of their camp,” you gotta be there.

Warning: profanity and record-store-clerk plumber’s crack

5. SUPPORT THE RUNNERS
Just because you’re too big of a wussy (like me) to actually run the 37th annual Race to Robie Creek on Saturday, it doesn’t mean you can’t hang out and cheer on the runners. Or drive it afterward.
