Five Things You Should Do This Weekend in Boise

When you aren’t scarfing down free yogurt from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the new Menchie’s in Meridian

1. HEAR TOTALLY WEIRD MUSIC
It’s Bizarro Sunday this weekend. Do you enjoy synthetic Auto-Tune vocals? Check out T-Pain at the Knitting Factory. Are you into Detroit dance-rock about fast food and fire? Electric Six at Neurolux is your ticket. Or are you determined to dance to the FREAKIEST THING EVER from Iowa (not named Slipknot)? Check out Internet sensation Leslie and the LY’s Sunday night at Reef — singing songs about “Tight Pants (Body Rolls).”

2. ENJOY DOWN HOME CHROME
Browsing the 42nd annual Boise Roadster Show will be pure eye candy for car buffs. (And other dudes. More on that in a sec.) Check out the show at Expo Idaho from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oh, and Spider-Man will be there for the kids. Swimsuit pageant or not, this is a family-friendly event, dammit!

3. MAKE HOCKEY YOUR GOAL
Hockey season will be over before you know it. The Idaho Steelheads are making their playoffs push today and Saturday against the Las Vegas Wranglers. [Tickets] They brought back goalie Josh Robinson, last year’s team MVP. Let’s hope he doesn’t have a weekend like this …

4. SAVE THE PLANET
The touring, activism-oriented Wild & Scenic Film Festival will play at the Egyptian Theatre on Saturday night. I would have posted a flyer, but it’s way too small on Facebook. (Sorry!) Organizers are already hyping next year’s slate of films.

5. GO SEE EATON
Former local musician Marcus Eaton has relocated to L.A., joined David Crosby’s band, and gigged on “Jimmy Fallon” a few weeks ago. But he’s headlining his own show Sunday at the intimate Sapphire Room in Boise.

This show is sold out.
