1. EAT GREEK
The Greeks don’t want no freaks? Eh, whatever. They’ll let you in to stuff your face at the Greek Food Festival today and Saturday. It’s at Boise’s Saints Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church at 2618 W. Bannock St.
2. GET BLUESY (AND BREWSY)
Local breweries, bands and smoked-meat purveyors will make Hawks Memorial Stadium the place to be Saturday. The annual Blues, Brews and Barbecue also is a benefit for the Idaho Humane Society. [More]
3. BE ARTY
The annual Art & Roses will fill Julia Davis Park with work from 65 local artists on Sunday. There will be live music, food vendors and grandma sightings. There won’t be crafts or prints. [More]
4. SEE SOME COMEDY
A late change at Liquid Laughs means that Dave Landau won’t be headlining this weekend, so ignore what you see in today’s Scene magazine. Seattle comedian Alysia Wood is rolling into town instead. [Tickets]
5. ROCK OUT
Portland-with-Boise-ties Americana band The Jackalope Saints are in town tonight and Saturday at Tom Grainey’s, 109 S 6th St. ($5). Or vibe out with Mike Pinto at the Knitting Factory on Sunday ($12). Be warned: Reggae dude likes to drop f-bombs and mosh once in a while, too. See below.
