Five Things You Should Do This Weekend in Boise

When you aren’t sippin’ Idaho potato moonshine with your gramps …

1. HOOP IT UP
Look, I’m not saying that Idaho Stampede games don’t normally draw crowds. But based on the number of other events going on this weekend, I wouldn’t be surprised if 50,000 people showed up at CenturyLink Arena for games against Texas tonight and Saturday. [Tickets]

2. GET ADDICTED TO BLUES
Got a live music craving? Clapton-and-Allmans-loving Boise band The Blues Addicts will celebrate “Blue Year’s End” on Saturday night at the Linen Building in Boise.

3. HAVE A LAUGH
Boise comedian Gabe Dunn tours the Northwest with his Fueled By Desperation Comedy Show, co-hosts a program on Radio Boise, and happens to be completely nuts. Catch him at 8 p.m. tonight, Saturday and Sunday, and at 10:15 p.m. tonight and Saturday, at Liquid Laughs. It’s $10. [Tickets]

Warning, yo: profanity!

4. DO THE HOLIDAY THING
Newsflash: You are not too cool to check out Winter Garden aGlow. So round up Grandma and just do it. They have a pretty sweet model train display out there this year. Or how about a 55-minute holiday lights trolley tour of Christmas lights in Downtown Boise instead?

5. BEHOLD THE SUSHI MACHINE
Does the idea of fast-food sushi just sound bad? Think again. Downtown Boise newbie Dharma Sushi and Thai is open until 3 a.m. on weekends, uses a cool “sushi machine” to blast out hundreds of rolls an hour, and has earned a stamp of approval from Idaho Statesman restaurant reviewer Alex Kiesig.
