When you aren’t (burp) soaking up the latest local beer news …
1. FIVE THINGS? LET’S START WITH ONE ‘THING’ …
That ornery severed hand was always my favorite character on the TV show. But I’m genuinely curious how they’ll work Thing on a stage at “The Addams Family” touring musical. It’s playing Saturday and Sunday at the Morrison Center.
2. SEE A COMEDIAN (YOU’VE ACTUALLY HEARD OF!)
If you’ve got the comedy itch, here’s your weekend. Comedy Central regular Christopher Titus — remember his Fox sitcom in the early 2000s? — headlines the Knit tonight. And comedian Loni Love rolls into Liquid Laughs tonight and Saturday.
3. CHECK OUT LIVE MUSIC
Locals Kevin Kirk and Sally Tibbs perform together at Chandlers for the first time in two years from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday. More into hip-hop than jazz? On the touring circuit, eccentric, dazzling Forrest Day rocks the Reef tonight. And Chance the Rapper headlines the RevCenter on Saturday.
4. BE CRABBY
What’s that outdoor steam in Downtown Boise? It’s Reel Foods doing a Sidewalk Crab Boil from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. today and Saturday — more than 300 pounds of freshly harvested Dungeness crab. They’ll ice-pack it for you to take home and reheat for $5.99 a pound. Mmmm.
5. MAKE HOLIDAY RESERVATIONS
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are two extremely popular dining-out dates. Trouble is, if you don’t make reservations early, you’re often hosed. Fortunately, we’ve compiled a list of Treasure Valley restaurants open during the holidays, what they’re serving, and how to make reservations. Bon appetit, Santa.
