Five Things You Should Do This Weekend

Since the Diego’s Umbrella and Arrival From Sweden concerts tonight have been canceled

1. GO SEE THE BRONCOS
College football fans are starting to feel the gnawing withdrawal symptoms: No. Football. Till. Fall. Take the edge off by supporting the Broncos on Saturday at the Boise State football Blue and Orange Spring Game. Come on, show support. It’s $9. Nebraska drew 60,000 fans last weekend for their scrimmage, which included a very special moment. [Tickets]

2. HEAR THE SEASONS
The Boise Baroque Orchestra is breaking out the big guns during its 10th season. Violin shredder Rachel Barton Pine will perform Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons” today and Sunday. [Tickets]

3. GIVE A HOOT
Baby owls have arrived in Hulls Gulch. Check them out from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Foothills Learning Center, where there will be spotting scopes plus owl-related craft activities for kids. [More]

4. GET DIRTY
You gotta respect clean comics. Chris Neff is not one. If you think the “American Pie” movie franchise was hilarious start to finish, you’ll find this Boise native hee-larious. Neff is an L.A. dude now, but he’s at Liquid Laughs all weekend. [More]

WARNING: RAUNCHY, R-RATED PROFANITY

5. TAKE A BULLET
British thrashers Bullet For My Valentine blend classic metal elements with metalcore influences. But opening act Halestorm may steal the show Sunday at the Revolution Center with their more traditional heavy-rocking approach — sort of a modern-day Lita Ford act. [More]
