Five Things You Should Do This Weekend

1. JOIN THE FORT
You know Treefort Music Fest is cool. Even if you haven’t heard of a single band there, you owe it to yourself to check out Boise’s own Youth Lagoon at 7 p.m. Sunday on the outdoor Main Stage. Or lift your spirits by going to see Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings at 8:30 tonight on the same stage. Anything. You won’t regret it. A full Treefort guide is here. Buy Treefort tickets here.

2. SUPPORT LOCAL BREWERS (AND BANDS)
Too cheap to go to Treefort? But love craft beer? One word: Alefort. Local brewers have created special brews for this tasting festival, which is right next to the Main Stage. Twelve bands will crank throughout the weekend, too. It’s free and uses a token system for beers. [More]2013 Alefort Logo (Blue)

3. CRACK UP A LITTLE
After Boise State’s defensive performance in the NCAA Tournament, you’ve just gotta laugh. OK, no you don’t. But it hurts less if you do. Go see comic Keith Barany headline at Liquid tonight through Sunday. He’s a PG comic, so you can take your Mom, too.

4. GROW A PEAR
Man up. Admit you enjoy gardening. Strut confidently into the Boise Centre for the Boise Flower and Garden Show. It runs today through Sunday. [More]

5. CHOW DOWN
It’s Friday. That means there’s a killer prime rib dinner special at Westside Drive-In. Want to dine out tomorrow instead? Be adventurous and get the Saturday-only beef tongue at Bar Gernika. We’ve hunted down a special Boise dining deal for every day of the week. Start planning now. Your tummy will thank you later.
