Five Things You Should Do This Weekend in Boise

When you aren’t buying tickets for that live “MythBusters” performance next week …

1. GET JAZZED FOR SNOW
Hyping the annual Warren Miller Film Festival is like trying to reinvent the wheel — or maybe the ski pole. But let’s face it: It’s still pretty cool. Kick back with a cold one and check out the 64th edition today and Saturday at the Egyptian Theatre.

2. DO AN ARENA CONCERT
Zac Brown Band made everyone smile by welcoming Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters, Nirvana) to play drums recently on the Country Music Awards. Now Brown and his hugely popular country-rock band will headline Taco Bell Arena on Saturday night with opener Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue.

3. FEED YOUR INNER SLAMMA JAMMA
Last weekend’s nighttime Boise State football game fun but … brrrrr. It’s hard not to look forward to comfy indoor sports such as the Idaho Stampede. Home action debuts tonight and Saturday at CenturyLink Arena against Bakersfield.

4. ROCK OUT AT A CLUB CONCERT
Nothing personal Zac Brown fans, but I’d rather see an intimate club show. Relient K and Motion City Soundtrack headline the Knitting Factory tonight. [Tickets] Theatrical “hell-pop” headbangers In This Moment take over the Knit on Saturday. [Tickets] And Gen-X alt-rockers Meat Puppets visit Neurolux on Sunday. [Tickets]

5. FREEZE YOUR CYCLING BUNS OFF
Over 21? Love making new friends? Bundle up and head to Crooked Fence Barrelhouse at 10 a.m. Sunday. You’ll join fellow cycling crazies on a mini-tour of area bars. “Every time you order a Crooked Fence brew, you will get a raffle ticket and a chance to win a HUGE Crooked Fence Brewing Co. prize package,” marketing director Kelly Knopp explains. “Winner will be announced at our final stop at Ben’s Crow Inn.”
