Five Things You Should Do This Weekend

1. TAP INTO FUN
Sure, 10 Barrel Brewing Company is huge and hopping — and badass-looking — but let’s not forget about the little guy. The Taphouse brewpub in Downtown Boise has waaaaaaay more taps and will celebrate its first birthday with $1 craft beers Sunday. I’ll take an Outlaw IPA on the patio, please.

2. PUT UP WITH SOME BULL
Hang on. The top riders on the planet will compete for not nearly enough money at the Professional Bull Riders series today and Saturday at the Idaho Center. [Tickets]

3. SPEND CASH ON THE KIDS
Sunny days? Yep, all weekend. But if you’re wanting the kind that are “chasin’ the clouds away,” you’ll need to break out your moldy money and take the rugrats to “Sesame Street Live” Saturday or Sunday. [More]

4. ROCK OUT TIMES TEN
El Ten Eleven is an instrumental duo. No vocals. But, man, do they lay it down. (Hearing them lured me out of the beer-tasting tent at Treefort Music Fest, so KNOW they must be fairly sonically persuasive.) Check ‘em out Sunday at Neurolux. [Tickets]

5. ENJOY THE OUTDOORS
80 degrees? The best thing to do this weekend is to get outside. One option: Interactive booths, games, vendors, guided walks and workshops dealing with feathered creatures. Yes, it’s the Boise Bird Festival from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Foothills Heritage Park at Avimor. It’s free. [More]2013-boise-bird-festival-scan
