Skate and classic skiers found excellent conditions Thursday after 4 to 5 inches of new snow covered the trails and was manicured into skating lanes and classic tracks. The state park is known for its perfect grooming.
It looked like more snow was coming and the state park, 2 hours north of Boise, is going to be a sure bet for the weekend.
Phoebe, my golden retriever, even liked Rover’s Round About, the canine cross-country trail.
The park also had its share of snowshoers making their way along the trail along the shores of Payette Lake.
It’s about time for fresh snow conditions. Look for our story on unique winter adventures at Idaho’s state parks on Feb. 13.
Good skiing and snowshoeing.
