Education task force makes recommendations public

Gov. Butch Otter’s Task Force for Improving Education is  recommending that students be advanced based their mastery of learning skills, not the amount of time they spend learning them.

Others include:

– Increasing teacher salaries

–  Restoring much of the money schools have lost since 2008

They are among nearly a dozen recommendations the 31-member task force has developed after meeting for eight months.

The recommendations will be discussed at by the task force at 9 a.m. Friday at the Hatch Ballroom at the Boise State University Student Union Building.
