The Eagle High girls soccer team skipped practice Monday in order to volunteer for local non-profit organizations.

Half of the Mustangs served dinner at the Boise Rescue Mission, while another group helped do small jobs and maintenance around the City Light Home for Women & Children.

The girls also helped gather various necessities from the mission’s warehouse, such as diapers, wipes and toilet paper.

This is the fourth year in a row Eagle coach Stephanie Fornander and her team have volunteered around the community.

“We had such a memorable and positive experience,” Fornander said.

The Mustangs currently rank second in the 5A Southern Idaho Conference with a record of 5-1-0 and 6-3-2 overall. Eagle has outscored its conference opponents 19-1.
