Eagle: Design Review Board opening

The city of Eagle is seeking interested citizens to fill an opening on the Design Review Board. Qualified persons will preferably have a background in the field of architecture; however others are welcome to apply.

The selected person will serve a vacated term that expires in July 2014. The Board regularly meets on the second and fourth of each month at 6 p.m. This is an unpaid volunteer position filled via the recommendation of Mayor Jim Reynolds and subsequent approval of city council.

The Board reviews all development proposals within the design review district. Within this district, the Board regulates landscaping and beautification laws, reviews building design, and reviews site planning, signs, grading, and development. This includes, but is not limited to, the regulation and restriction of the type of building, number of stories, size of building, construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, or use of buildings and structures. The Board also ensures compliance with the requirements of the respective design review overlay districts, City of Eagle comprehensive plan, and relevant ordinances.

Interested applicants must submit a Request for Appointment form with a letter of interest and list of qualifications/resume to Eagle City Hall, 660 E. Civic Lane, Eagle ID 83616.

The deadline to apply is Friday, May 24.
