I always wait until the last minute to get my federal duck stamp, so this year I dropped by the Post Office earlier to get one.
This season’s stamp features a common goldeneye, which we always see on the rivers throughout Southwest Idaho. It’s a beautiful stamp.
You don’t have to be a hunter to buy a duck stamp, even though they are required for waterfowl hunting. In fact, if you want to contribute to the National Wildlife Refuge system and the acquiring of wetlands for waterfowl and other wildlife habitat, you should get a duck stamp. They also can be used to federal wildlife refuges where entry fees are charged.
The cost is $15 and they are available at U.S. Post Offices and some sporting goods stores. For more info on duck stamps, look HERE
