Downtown Boise restaurant Red Headed Finn closes

The Red Headed Finn Pub, 705 W. Bannock St., closed this weekend.

The restaurant and bar took over the Falcon Tavern space in 2012. Its niche location and outdoor patio made it a nice “escape” spot Downtown for a beer and burger.

The Finn took to Twitter on Saturday to advertise $10 growler fills and $3.50 pints on its final day: “Today is the last day we will be open. Sad to say goodbye. All pints $3.50 all day!”

(Come to think of it, if $10 growler fills are considered a close-out-special-type bargain, maybe the business plan needed tweaked in the first place.)

The obvious question, of course: What goes into that space now?

Original Falcon Tavern owner Corey Bresina has the space leased through spring, so he’ll either need to find a new restaurateur to take over or reopen the Falcon himself, he says.
