Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge needs volunteers to help lead kids’ nature tours

Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge needs volunteers to help connect kids with nature by guiding elementary students during field trips to Lake Lowell.
The field trips are targeted for 4th through 6th graders. Volunteers will guide students through field stations. Topics include birds, aquatic invertebrates, bugs, tracks and scat.
Volunteers are needed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from April 9 to June 6.
No experience is required. Training will be from 1 to 5 p.m., Tuesday, April 2.
