Concert news: Barenaked Ladies, Ben Folds, Dropkick Murphys and more are headed to Boise

It’s not all bad news on Monday morning. Here are a couple of shows just announced for Boise — and I expect more concert news this afternoon:

  • Canadian pop-rockers Barenaked Ladies will return for the second straight year — third time in four years — headlining another Last Summer on Earth Tour at the Idaho Botanical Garden’s Outlaw Field. The Friday, June 28, show also will include Ben Folds Five and Guster. Tickets for the 6 p.m. concert go on sale for $57 at 10 a.m. Friday at TicketWeb. No, that isn’t exactly an economy-priced G.A. ticket — it was $45.50 last year for a bill that also included Blues Traveler, Big Head Todd & the Monsters and Cracker. But if the past is any indication, this show still might sell out. The Ladies sold out the Garden in 2010 and 2012.
  • Celtic-rockers Dropkick Murphys will punk up the Knitting Factory on Monday, May 27. That’s Memorial Day but should sell out, too. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at TicketWeb for $29.50 general, $65 skybox.
