The Community Planning Association of Southwest Idaho (COMPASS) is hosting two free events featuring Linda Clark with the U.S. Census Bureau.
The first event is a presentation for a general audience on Monday, Feb. 25; the second event is a technical workshop for industry professionals on Tuesday, Feb. 26.
The Feb. 25 community presentation “What’s Trending Here?” starts at 5:30 p.m. with a reception followed by a presentation from 6 to 8 p.m. at COMPASS, 700 NE 2nd St. in Meridian.
This session will focus on national and local demographic trends and demonstrate how to use local data. The information can be particularly relevant for people working for government or nonprofit organizations who need to use Census data in applying for grants and similar applications.
To attend this event, please RSVP to Jessica Wilson at firstname.lastname@example.org or 475-2230.
The Feb. 26 workshop “Demystifying the Process of Accessing and Using Census Data” takes place from 9 a.m. to noon at COMPASS.
In this workshop, participants will create local data tables and thematic maps from a variety of Census Bureau demographic and economic programs, then explore available data tools and resources. All attendees need to bring a laptop to participate. Outlets are limited, so please bring a fully charged laptop.
Workshop space is limited. Pre-registration is required by Tuesday, Feb. 19 to Jessica Wilson at email@example.com or 475-2230.
