Capital football can close out regular season undefeated with win tonight

Capital hosts Eagle at 7 p.m. Thursday at Dona Larsen Park in the final 5A Southern Idaho Conference game of the regular season for both teams.

Capital (9-0) has the chance to finish the regular season unbeaten for the first time since 2010, and is already locked into the league’s No. 1 seed in the state playoffs win or lose. The Eagles will host a first-round playoff game next week against Idaho Falls, which finished as the second team from the east.

Eagle (6-2) could still could move up from fourth to third in the playoff seeding with a victory over Capital, combined with a Mountain View loss to Meridian on Friday.
