The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Boise District Resource Advisory Council (RAC) will meet on Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Boise District Office, 3948 S. Development Ave.
The agenda includes a review of current projects and a schedule for upcoming public meetings in January 2014. BLM managers and staff will provide updates to members of the RAC on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for Idaho and Southwest Montana Greater Sage-Grouse Draft Land Use Plan, the Gateway West EIS and proposed actions for Sage-Grouse Habitat Restoration and Juniper Management EIS. Grazing decisions throughout the District, including those for the Owyhee 68 Project, will be discussed. A review of the BDO 2013 wildland fire activity will be presented. Status reports will be provided to the RAC on the Paradigm Project and on the post-fire emergency stabilization and restoration projects underway across the BDO.
Council members will discuss priority projects for the coming year, based on BLM-Idaho priorities. A public comment period will be held beginning at 12:25 p.m.
The forum provides an opportunity for the public to ask questions of the citizen-based advisory council or to make comments that may assist RAC members in formulating their recommendations to the BLM. Anyone interested in receiving an agenda or additional information about the meeting may contact BLM Boise District RAC Coordinator Marsha Buchanan, at 208-384-3364.
