Brundage Mountain Resort at McCall is offering free chairlift rides on Friday, June 28 for the kickoff of the summer chairlift season.
The grand opening celebration is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.
Those who want a ride can stop by the base area bike shop to get their free lift tickets for the Blue Bird High Speed Quad, which accesses Brundage Mountain’s 7,640-foot summit and more than 20 miles of single-track trails.
Brundage is asking that visitors donate one can of food or $1 per ride. Proceeds will benefit the Heartland Hunger Resource Center.
Brundage and Giant Mountain Bikes have also teamed up to raise money for the HHRC with a revolving raffle featuring everything from bike jerseys to locks, gloves and saddles. Each person who donates a can of food or $1 will receive a raffle ticket.
Additional tickets may be purchased for $1 each.
Multiple items will be raffled at noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m, with a grand prize drawing at 4 p.m for a giant swag bag, which will include a 2013 summer season pass. Participants must be present to win.
Bike rentals will be available for purchase on-site on a first-come first-served basis. The Brundage bike shop will also provide free bike safety checks from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The grand opening celebration includes an outdoor barbecue starting at noon. Food and beverages will be sold in the base area.
Regular summer lift hours are Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with bonus days on July 4 and Monday, Sept. 2.
