Britt Udesen will take the helm of The Cabin, the state’s leading literary organization, starting in March. She fills the position left by Dede Ryan, who stepped down in October. The Cabin runs educational programs throughout Idaho, through its writing camps and “Writers in the Schools and presents nationally know writers at its “Readings and Conversations” lecture series.
Udesen comes most recently from the Sun Valley Center for the Arts for eight years, where she served as director of education and humanities. While there she founded a nationally-recognized lecture series — similar to “Readings and Conversations” — and
collaborated with regional arts organizations and school districts to create educational programs.
Before moving to Idaho, Udesen worked at Textile Center in Minneapolis, served as director of summer programs at the College of Visual Arts in St. Paul and taught at Minnesota Center for Book Arts. Udeson currently serves as Board President of the Wood River Arts Alliance.
