Senior point guard Isaiah Wright was medically cleared to return to practice earlier this week and will play his first game since breaking his right wrist Friday at Meridian High. Tipoff is 7:30 p.m.
Wright has helped the Lions win back-to-back 5A state championships and is the reigning Gatorade Idaho Player of the Year. Last season, the 6-foot-2 guard averaged 16 points, 6.9 assists, 5 rebounds and 3.3 steals per game. He has committed to play for the University of Utah this fall.
In Borah’s fourth game of the season, Wright broke his wrist against Mountain View and had to have surgery. At the time, he was told his return to the court before the end of the season was unlikely.
The Lions were 3-1 before Wright’s injury, and have gone 5-5 since. They currently hold the fifth spot in the 5A Southern Idaho Conference standings.
