The Treasure Valley Cycling Alliance, Idaho Pedestrian and Bicycle Alliance and Boise Bicycle Project are celebrating safe winter night riding at 7 p.m. Friday.
Everyone is welcome — families, kids, racers and commuters.
Festivities begin with a rally at 7 p.m. on the Statehouse steps on Jefferson Street. Boise Police Captain Pete Ritter will give a short speech about bicycle safety. A police escort will accompany cyclists on the three-mile loop around Boise. Bring lights for your bike. If you don’t have one, lights will be provided. A map of the route is available here.
Neurolux, 113 N. 11th St., will host a 21-and-over fundraising and Boise Bicycle Project membership drive. A $5 cover charge will support the groups’ safety campaign, which began in November. Anyone who doesn’t want to attend the Neurolux event can drop into The District Coffee House for hot cocoa, coffee or tea.
