Boise welcoming new Idaho IceWorld manager

Kevin Barnes comes to IceWorld from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich., where he was the sports complex manager for 11 years.

Barnes has managed ice sports facilities for more than 17 years and is a certified ice technician, according to a city of Boise news release. He holds a master’s degree in recreation, parks and leisure services administration from Central Michigan University.

The public is invited to a meet-and-greet open house to welcome Barnes from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday  at Idaho IceWorld, 7072 S. Eisenman Road.

Barnes’ wife, Yolonda, and two daughters, Rebekah, 16, and Beth, 11, will join him in Boise in early August.
