Boise wants to hear from public on new Liberty Park plan

Boise Parks and Recreation is planning a public meeting March 13 to discuss a plan to add two new little league baseball fields, a restroom-concessions building, four shelters, a basketball court, a walking path and a 39-space parking lot.

Depending on the outcome of the meeting, the plan could be further revised before submission to the Boise Parks and Recreation Commission. Construction of park improvements is dependent on the availability of city funding.

The meeting starts at 6 p.m. at Grace Jordan Community Center, 6411 W. Fairfield Ave.

Liberty Park is a 10-acre neighborhood park located at 520 N. Liberty St. off Emerald St. south of Curtis Road. The current master plan was created more than 10 years ago. Amenities include a playground, an open play area, picnic tables and two little league fields.

If you are unable to attend, you can submit comments to project coordinator Kelly Burrows at kburrows@cityofboise.org or 208-608-7634.
