Boise wants to hear from public on changes to Simplot Sports Complex

Parks and Recreation plans to hold a public meeting April 22 to gather input on proposed improvements to the Simplot Sports Complex in Southeast Boise.

Proposed new features include two restrooms, seven shade structures, two buildings for concessions, storage  and meeting space, as well as a parking lot near the baseball fields.

The April 22 meeting will begin at 6 p.m. at Columbia Heights Baptist Church, 2437 E. Lake Forest Drive.

Conceptual plans will be presented to encourage public dialogue and discussion. The resulting master plan will be used as part of the application to Ada County for a master site plan update and will guide resource allocations when funds become available to build park improvements.

Simplot Sports Complex is a 161-acre special use area in Southeast Boise’s Columbia Village. Amenities include soccer and little league fields, playground equipment, restrooms and parking areas.

If you are unable to attend the meeting, you can submit your comments to Toby Norton, Project Coordinator, by sending an email to tnorton@cityofboise.org or calling (208) 608-7635.
