Boise State’s Jamar Taylor ties for first among cornerbacks in combine bench press

Former Boise State cornerback Jamar Taylor made a strong first impression at the NFL Scouting Combine on Monday.

Taylor performed 22 reps on the 225-pound bench press — tied for fourth among defensive backs and tied for first among cornerbacks.

Taylor’s on-field testing, including the 40-yard dash, is scheduled to begin at 7 a.m. Tuesday. NFL Network and NFL.com will show live video.

Taylor said last week he hoped to finish in the top five in each test.

His numbers so far:

Size: 5-foot-11, 192 pounds
Bench press: 22 reps at 225 pounds (tied for fourth out of 49 defensive backs; tied for first among cornerbacks)
