The Boise State men’s basketball team earned its first-ever at-large berth into the NCAA Tournament on Sunday.
The Broncos (21-10) will face La Salle on Wednesday at approximately 7:10 p.m. MST on truTV in a first-round game in Dayton, Ohio. The winner will take on No. 4-seed Kansas State in Kansas City, Mo.
“It’s a huge milestone for our program,” Boise State coach Leon Rice said.
La Salle (21-9) comes out of the Atlantic 10 and is making its first tournament appearance since 1992. The Explorers won back-to-back games in January over ranked teams VCU and Butler. La Salle has four players who average double digits in scoring — Ramon Galloway (17.0 ppg), Tyreek Duren (15.0 ppg), Tyrone Garland (12.9 ppg) and Jerrell Wright (10.3 ppg).
The No. 13 seed is the best in Boise State’s NCAA Tournament history. This is the Broncos’ sixth trip to the tournament.
