Boise State men’s basketball coach Leon Rice announced Tuesday he has promoted Jeff Linder to associate head coach.
Linder has been an assistant under Rice since 2010-11, Rice’s first season at Boise State. Linder previously was an associate head coach at San Francisco under Rex Walters in 2009-10, promoted after one season as an assistant with Dons. Linder fills the vacancy left by Dave Wojcik, who was Rice’s associate head coach until he was hired at San Jose State in March as the Spartans’ head coach.
“Jeff has played a major role in building this program,” Rice said in a statement. “He possesses high-level knowledge of the game of basketball, and has the ability to identify and develop talent. Jeff earned this promotion, and we are grateful to have him as a member of our staff.”
Rice’s staff of three assistants consists of Linder, John Rillie and Danny Henderson. Henderson was hired in April after Wojcik departed.
