Boise State issued a statement Monday on the incident that led to senior quarterback Joe Southwick being sent home from the Hawaii Bowl. Southwick claimed in an interview on KTVB on Sunday night that he was not the person who urinated off a balcony of the team hotel but that witnesses said he was.

“We investigated the matter with university administrators, coaching staff, a law enforcement official, hotel security and student-athletes. We made the decision to send the student-athlete home, and we stand by this difficult decision,” the Boise State statement said.

Here is what Southwick told KTVB.

Southwick and his father, Jeff Southwick, told the Idaho Statesman on Sunday that they would talk to us about the incident. They did not.
