Boise State has nearly 8,000 tickets remaining for its football home opener Saturday against UT Martin.
The school has sold a little more than 22,000 season tickets — about a 2,000-ticket drop from last year.
Including 4,000 student tickets, it has a little more than 28,500 tickets out for the opener.
Single-game tickets are available at boisestatetickets.com. They range from $27 for a junior ticket in the north end zone to $65 for adult tickets in the main grandstands.
The ticket office (426-4737) is open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday. It opens at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Season tickets still are available starting at $230.
Best I can tell, the only time during coach Chris Petersen’s tenure that Boise State has had a crowd of less than 30,000 was his first game — in 2006 against Sacramento State. That crowd was 29,674.
The last game I can find with more than 5,000 empty seats was a 2003 game against UTEP. That was 24,513.
