Boise, Nampa high schools plan special athletic events Friday

The Boise High girls basketball team will play its sixth annual Pink Zone Game, while Nampa High plans to announce its fifth hall of fame class before its girls basketball game.

Boise’s event, which helps raise awareness for the local chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, takes place at 7:30 p.m. Friday when the Braves host Borah. Last year’s event raised $1,433.

Nampa will induct its latest hall of fame class during a ceremony at 6 p.m. Friday in the school cafeteria. This year’s honorees include Stan and Merlyn Legg (Distinguished Citizen-Bulldog Supporter), the 1996 state runner-up football team, Jana (Pintler) Blacker (female athlete), Klint Keller (male athlete) and Craig Estell (coach).

Nampa’s 2014 hall of fame class will be introduced at halftime of the varsity girls basketball game between Nampa and Caldwell. The game starts at 7:30 p.m.
