Boise forecast: Rainy Monday, highs in 60s all week

It’s that time of year when temperatures fall, and the leaves change color. But this week is going to be unseasonably cool in Boise, according to the National Weather Service.

Highs this week will be in the high-50s to low-60s. That’s 10 to 12 degrees below normal, said meteorologist Valerie Mills. Due to cloud cover, overnight lows will be in the upper-30s and low-40s. Normal for this time of year is about 45.

Gardeners should be aware that the coldest day of the week will be Friday morning. Temperatures are expected to drop into the low 30s in Caldwell, Mountain Home and Nampa. Emmett will see mid-30s, and Boise will high-30s.

After a gray, overcast and wet weekend (.04 inches fell at Boise Airport Saturday and Sunday), more rain is expected in Boise Monday. Prepare for scattered showers during the day. It should clear up by the evening, Mills said.

A wind advisory is in effect through 6 a.m. Monday for Owyhee, Malheur and Harney counties. The Weather Service said there could be winds of 30 to 45 mph, with gusts up to 55 mph.
