Beat Coach Pete race brings in $35,000 for scholarships

The annual Beat Coach Pete 5K Run/Walk drew 2,298 participants on Saturday, and the event raised $35,000 for Boise State’s general scholarship fund.

Coach PeteFootball Coach Chris Petersen finished the race in 27 minutes, behind 1,000 other runners. Before the race he pledged to donate $5 for each runner who finished ahead of him, so his donation was $5,000 this year.

The annual fun run/walk has raised more than $173,000 for scholarships since its inception. Next year’s race is set for Saturday, April 14.
