Three singers from the TV show “The Voice” will be featured at Baldapalooza in Eagle’s Merrill Park Saturday. The fund-raiser runs from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., and gates open at 3 p.m.
The event will feature live music, food, and kids’ activities.
All of the money raised at the event will go to St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital, organizers say. They hope to help create a Hall of Heroes on the cancer unit, highlighting courageous children who’ve been there, and a “meal fund” for parents of children during a long hospital stay (giving them a break from cafeteria food and vending machines).
The inspiration for Baldapalooza was Kean Barker. The 2-year-old was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia last summer. One of the things that comforted him most was taking wagon rides in the hallway near his room. His family hopes to comfort other families going through the same thing.
The artists from “The Voice” who are appearing are: Midas Whale, Ryan Innes and Amy Whitcomb. The bands Fictionist and Waking Jordan will also perform, along with a handful of local acts.
Merrill Park is at 637 E. Shore Dr. in Eagle.
