Community members interested in showing their support for Kuna High football player Boone Bartlome are invited to attend a rally at 3:30 p.m. Monday in Kuna High’s auditorium.
Bartlome, a junior wide receiver, broke the fourth cervical vertebra (C4) in his neck when he lost his footing while blocking during a running play Friday night at Bishop Kelly High.
Kuna coach Lee Leslie said Bartlome was able to shrug his shoulders on Saturday, but that more would be known about his progress as the swelling continues to go down.
Heading into Friday’s game, Bartlome had caught 12 passes for 201 yards and a touchdown. He also won the long jump at the 4A state track and field meet in May.
