Apologies to Sen. Risch: Spam filter did me in

My story today about GOP Sen. Jim Risch’s new Democratic challenger Nels Mitchell mistakenly said the Risch campaign declined my request for comment Tuesday.

That was incorrect. I received a timely reply Tuesday from Jason Risch, the senator’s son and campaign spokesman. But it was routed to my spam folder and I didn’t see it. The email from Jason Risch contained the same statement I used in the story, which I obtained from the Risch campaign website.

I amended the story online early today, but want to acknowledge my mistake here.
