This came from Dr. Stephen Asher in response to the Thursday article with tips for staying warm. This is especially helpful for anglers and waterfowl hunters who spend long periods in waders, but it also applies to all who wear boots during winter.
“Another tip that I find helpful when spending the day in waders. Although the majority of the wader is breathable, of course the bootie is not. As a result the inside can become moist. Moist feel can feel cold and uncomfortable, in part because of temperature transmission. Therefore, before heading out for the day, I have found it very helpful to spray my feet with aerosol underarm anti -perspirant. This way, feet stay dry and warmer.”
Thanks for the tip, and I know I will put that one to use.
