Ada County Prosecuting Attorney Greg Bower has tapped longtime deputy prosecuting attorney Jan Bennetts to serve as his chief of staff.
Under the newly created position Bennetts will supervise various divisions within the office and she also will work closely with Roger Bourne, chief deputy of the criminal division, and Ted Argyle, chief deputy of the civil division, according to a press release.
Bennetts began her career in 1992 as a clerk to Judge Thomas G. Nelson of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. In 1994, at the conclusion of her clerkship, Bower hired her as a deputy prosecuting attorney.
A native Idahoan, Bennetts grew up on a ranch in Challis. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Idaho and her law degree from Willamette University in Salem, Ore.
