The Ada County Highway District will begin construction later this month on pedestrian improvements to Pierce Park Lane between State Street and Hill Road in Northwest Boise.
• Adding sidewalks, curb and gutter on the west side of Pierce Park between State and Parapet Drive and an asphalt path with extruded curb between Parapet and Hill Road.
• Adding sidewalks, curb and gutter on the east side of Pierce Park between State and Castle Drive. The existing shoulder between Castle and Hill will remain.
• Replacing the storm drain line down the center of the street between Lucky Lane and Hill Road.
• Repaving the roadway.
Construction is expected to be complete by August.
Pierce Park will be not be closed during construction, but motorists should expect lane restrictions and possible delays.
During school start and release times (before 9 a.m. and after 3 p.m.) the contractor will be required to provide one paved travel lane in each direction between State and Castle, as well as a pedestrian path. During school hours this section of roadway may have lane restrictions with flaggers, but access to Pierce Park Elementary school will be maintained at all times and any asphalt removed during the day must be repaved within 24 hours.
