Ace Hardware on Overland Road to close

ACE Hardware

The Ace Hardware at 6969 Overland Road is closing.

The Watson family owns the store, according to the store’s Facebook page.  It opened as a Coast to Coast store in 1975. The Watson family bought it in 1981, then converted it to an Ace Hardware in 1993.

Customers received an e-mail from the store about the closure:

“Hurry, after 32 years Overland Ace Hardware is closing the doors! Save 25 to 75% off selected merchandise in the store. Save money on hardware, paint, plumbing, tools, electrical, cleaning supplies, and more! Everything is on sale and nothing is being held back! Hurry in for the best selections. Store hours: Mon. to Sat. 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sun, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.”

There was no answer at the store Sunday night. The signs in the window indicate that it is a “retirement sale.”
